CBT – Identify traumatic events in your lifetime
Thoughts, feelings, emotions, and physical reactions are all connected.
Change happens in small steps
1. Behavioural Coping – Grounding Techniques (See 5, Shape 4, Hear 3)
2. Exposure – avoidance – reduces life, so gentle exposure (talking, writing, sights, sounds, confronting situations that remind you of the event).
3. Stress inoculation – develop awareness of triggers, for anxiety and flashbacks – breathing and how you think about the trauma. – Plan for an prevent overwhelming reactions.
4. Cognitive processing – write out trauma and read over and over again – address stuck points and change negative thoughts to a more healthier thought.
